Irish Tea Cake:
Teacake Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Teacake Supplies:

Directions:
Begin by greasing a 9″ round pan. In a medium sized bowl, mix together the sugar and the butter until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. One at a time, mix in the eggs until they are incorporated and then add in the vanilla extract. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Alternate between adding the milk and the flour mixture until all ingredients are mixed together. You can add another tablespoon of milk to the mixture if the batter is too stiff. After that, spread the batter out evenly in the pan.
Bake in the oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the Irish Tea cake to cool on a wire rack and then sprinkle the powdered sugar over the top just before you are ready to serve it. Then slice, serve, and ENJOY!
